IMPORTANT INFO FOR NEW ROWERS 9/8/2009

New Rowers: make sure you have handed your class schedule into Coach Chris DeYoung. If you have not done so, bring it with you to the next practice.

Practice Schedule

(times subject to change based on team class schedules)

Monday- Thursday: 4pm and 5:30pm (pick one that works best for your schedule the first week)

Friday: 5pm

Saturday: 8am

** Recommended items for practice: compression shorts, athletic shoes, sunglasses, and a hat.


Directions to Class of 1914 Boathouse

From College Ave.  and Cook / Douglass Campuses:
-    by bus, take EE or F to Public Safety Building stop. Take Commercial Ave. toward river. Follow Commercial Ave. across Rt. 18 into Boyd Park (follow all crosswalks and traffic lights!) Then make a right turn towards the boathouse (large scarlet building, white trim).

Alternately from Cook/Douglass: by bus, take the EE or F to Gibbons Circle stop. Take George St. across Route 18, follow sidewalk along Route 18 North to Boathouse Rd./ Access Rd.

From Busch/ Livingston:
-    take bus to College Ave., follow directions above.
OR
-    take REXL or REXB to Public Safety Building. Take Commercial Ave. toward river. Follow Commercial Ave. across Rt. 18 into Boyd Park (follow all crosswalks and traffic lights!) Then make a right turn towards the boathouse (large scarlet building, white trim).

Driving personal vehicle (All campuses):


Take Route 18 South towards Route 1. Take the jughandle at Paulus Blvd. for a U-turn onto Route 18 North. Get into the extreme right lane (local lanes), take Route 18 North for about ½ mile. Boathouse Rd./Access Rd. is on your right. Make sure you put your signal on and slow down!!  Parking is available upstream of boathouse (to your left as you turned onto access road).


Other Notes/ Recommendations:

- These are the recommended routes, keep in mind that there is also a pedestrian crossing across Route 18 at George St. (Douglass/Cook Campuses), and also biking may be faster/ more efficient travel than riding the bus or driving.

- Keep in mind Boyd Park is under construction, be aware of vehicles, etc.
